First edition of International Showdown Tournament

„Showdown Slovak Open 2023“

Samorin, Slovakia, February 15th – 19th, 2023

Slovakia is a charming small country right in the center of Europe. It has a lot to offer: long and rich history, interesting culture, beautiful nature, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and kind and friendly people. We will be happy to welcome you all here!

1. Place of Competition, accomodation, meals

All participants will be accomodated in one hotel and at the same place playing rooms will be (at conference section). Possible rooms: single and double. Every two double rooms share one bathroom.

3. Arrival, departure, transportation to/from the hotel

Arrival: Wednesday, February 15th (before 5 pm if possible)

Departure: Sunday, February 19th (after breakfast)

The nearest airport is in Bratislava, Slovakia, another close enough is Vienna

Swechat Airport, Austria. From both transfer by minibus is possible for 20 €/person*.

Other possible ways how to get to Bratislava are by train or by bus. Transfer by minibus to the hotel from train or bus station is for 10 €/person*.

5. Registration, participation fee

Deadline for registration is November 20th 2022, To register you must fill the online entry form which will be automatically sent to e-mail showdownslovakopen@gmail.com.

If you prefer a classic fillable entry form we also provide this type of document. You can send it to our e-mail address.

Participation fee is 399 € (double room) or 699 € (single room). Maximum one single room per team. This fee includes accommodation and all meals from Wednesday dinner to Sunday breakfast. All meals will be served as a buffet.

Participation fee must be paid until November 27th 2022.

In a case you decide to cancel your participation, refund is allowed until December 15th 2022 80 %, until December 31st 2022 50 %; at any later date, no refund is available.

6. Transportation

Transfers are guaranteed only from/to Vienna Schwechat Airport and Bratislava Airport and Bus or Train Stations by minibus at scheduled time.

Travel details must be communicated by e-mail to the Organizers by January 15th 2023.

7. Other information

The Tournament will be governed by IBSA Rules.

According to the current IBSA Showdown Rules only B1, B2, B3 players are allowed to play. Players who have not been classified by IBSA have to provide a medical document providing their level of visual impairment.

The document with the classified players is available on IBSA's website.

No time limits will be applied to matches. One point will be awarded for a won match.

Participants will be divided into 2 categories – men and women.

The games will be played on at minimum four Czech tables with ten referees.

We plan to organize live video or audio stream from one of the tables.
